Our Safety Program

Connor Construction is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and partners.

We Take a Safety-First Approach on Every Job

Connor Construction deals with all types of industries to perform a range of work, which is often dangerous. As your construction manager, it’s our job to make sure our subcontractor teams follow best practices while working in the safest environment possible. We take our responsibilities seriously, which is why we uphold rigorous safety standards on every site—no exceptions.

Our commitment to safety is one of the reasons why we deliver impeccable craftsmanship in such a short timeframe. When our team members feel safe and supported on the jobsite, they do better work. We don’t have to shut down the site to investigate preventable injuries or scramble to find new members to join your team. Instead, we take the time to be proactive about safety procedures.

How We Keep Our Team Safe

The key to keeping our employees safe is consistency. We follow the same safety process during every project so nothing gets missed.

  • Pre-Planning

Because every project exposes employees to unique hazards, we hold safety meetings before beginning work. Our project managers review the project scope and identify potential risks. Then, we create a custom safety plan, develop safety procedures, and train employees on essential topics.

  • 30-Hour OSHA Safety Training

We require all of our superintendents to complete 30-hour OSHA safety training courses which cover critical topics like operating power tools and handling hazardous materials. This training enables managers to react appropriately when a safety incident occurs.

  • Site Inspections

The Connor Construction team moves quickly, which means the jobsite changes daily. Our superintendents perform thorough site inspections and document all results in our Procore software. If we notice safety risks, we shut down operations until we remove all hazards and provide supplemental training when needed.

  • Protective Equipment

Our superintendents make sure our subcontractor teams have the appropriate protective equipment, including masks, gloves, safety vests, scaffolds, and hard hats. We supervise subcontractors so they follow all safety best practices, avoid common mistakes, and correctly use their equipment during dangerous tasks.
